Shivam Imports was founded 25 years ago by Ratan Poddar, the Chief Operating Officer, in Jaipur, India, with a vision to provide customers with aesthetically pleasing and prominent quality beads, semi-precious and precious stones at competitive prices. In 1991, Ratan Poddar relocated his business to New York to expand his business, gain recognition and seize the attention of gem merchants, retailers and individual buyers. Currently, 14 years later, Ratan Poddar is an established wholesaler on the distinguished Jeweler's Row on 47th street, between 5th and 6th Avenue in New York City.
